Ucom was founded in 2009 and initially started as a fixed-line broadband provider. It disrupted the market by building the most modern fiber-optic network in Armenia. In 2015, Ucom significantly expanded its reach by acquiring Orange Armenia, which allowed it to enter the mobile market and become a full-service "Quad-Play" operator.
